Hello...
I am new here, specifically my account.

I am a Norwegian developer who spends most of his days reverse engineering stupid DVD players.

Anyway, enough about me.

I've been working on a SunPlus SPHE8202L emulator, and so far, I'm struggling with how the memory is mapped.

I know that code is loaded in at 0x8800_0000 from the boot ROM, after being decrypted, but I am unsure much past that.

There seems to be the .data segment at 0x8000_0000 and the .bss shortly after.

Does anyone have any idea how the memory map works??? It's a MIPS32 core.

Have you tried looking at the sample source code maybe that will provide more info?

This post is quite old, and I haven't had time to work on the emulator, but yes, I have now. This post was made from just the decompiled binaries I had.

I recently took a look at some source dumps and have found the mappings I needed, including every hardware register in memory. Now it's time for a bunch of fuzzing.
