Both server and client use WINXP
I tried it, the server connected to ACCESS, it can be recognized by the system at compile time, and automatically register the server.
However, when the generated server-side program is packaged and installed on another host, the client program cannot connect to the server-side program (the host name and the database have been set). ???

The server can be solved with MIDAS, that is, the remote data template, and the client connects through DCOM
However, it is best to use Access as a database with a small amount of data, otherwise the efficiency will be very low

With DCOM, the server and client are running normally when the machine is running, but if you place the server on another computer on the local area network, program it on the machine, and re-specify the server connection, the connection will fail. Do not know why?

DCOM has security restrictions: the client must be a login user on the server, or the account password is exactly the same.
So remote is troublesome

Access is very error-prone when abnormal, and data integrity is difficult to guarantee

Yes, it can be done through Dcom. This is the case with the Access version of UFIDA financial software. However, if it feels a bit difficult, you can consider using the mysql database, if there is a genuine version, it is best to sql server.

This has nothing to do with the use of Access, mainly due to permission restrictions

ACCESS database is essentially a desktop database
C/S is not suitable

Agree withKaysin, redagony, starfulland我是嘎嘎. I think the main problem is the configuration of DCOM. The test failed between two WINXPs. An "Access Denied" error occurred. I don’t know who knows how to set up DCOM under WINXP
