Dear heroes, I wrote a small database application using delphi + sqlserver + ado,
Use installexpress as a publishing tool, but don't know how to do it without having to install sqlserver on the client's machine?

For ADO, if it is a C / S program, the client does not need to be installed, just write the connection string and point it to the server machine. But the server must install SQLSEVER.
In my opinion, there is no need to use tools to publish, just publish an EXE. And an INI file.

If it is a stand-alone operation, it must be installed, there is nothing to say about this

To check whether the port number of the sqlserver server is 1433, if it is not this port, you need to create an alias, you can use the file added to the registry, or a window directory called hosts,

Please pay attention to the stand-alone version of the program, is it possible to run directly without installing sqlserver on the machine?

If you use Yongle SQLServer2000 as a database, you must install it, whether you are on the local machine or server

The landlord, I'm doing the same job as you these days, haha.
I observed other software in our company that does not seem to install a database and can be used directly by running the installation program, and found that it actually has some files in the database, and many are the dlls that the software brings, encrypted, I can't see details.
I guess it is some drivers and other files that are necessary for the database when they are packed together and I have written some dll and other files myself, but I can't see the contents of the dll file. I am in a hurry.

It may be that together with the program itself, the necessary files for a database instance are published.
Because the products we sell are all database programs, so the software on the computer has any database. I have to develop myself so I installed SQLServer, haha, the company's software that uses SQLServer is finished, saying it cannot be initialized.
I looked at it, even if it is a stand-alone version, install a database. Separate the configuration when doing the program, and it can be used on other computers as long as SQLServer is installed.

Brothers upstairs, do you know which database files should be brought when packing? This should not need to be installed?
